Assistant Director of Bands
John Trew

The band program is proud to announce
Mr. John Trew as our new Assistant Director of Bands.
Prior to accepting the job at Bolivar, Mr. Trew taught 6th -
12th grade band in the Marion C. Early School District where
his concert ensemble received a Superior I Rating at
District Large Ensemble contest in 2009. Among
his many accomplishments, Mr. Trew has produced strong
musicianship in his students and developed an amazing small
school band program at Morrisville.
John Trew has been teaching for seven
years and is a percussion and stringed instrument
specialist. Among his many varied talents, Mr. Trew is
also an accomplished composer and arranger. He
received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the
University of Central Missouri and his Master of Music
degree in music composition from Missouri State University.
Mr. Trew performs in the Morrisville
Assembly Praise Band and has played mandolin, banjo, and
bass in several local bluegrass bands. He has performed
with the UCM Marching Band, Collegiate Band, Concert Band,
MSU Orchestra, and Collegiate Singers.
