Adult Musical

Into the Woods

An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Riding Hood? A Prince Charming with a roving eye?
A Witch...who raps? They're all among the cockeyed characters in James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's fractured fairy tale.
When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door,
they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from
Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk).
Everyone's wish is granted at the end of Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later,
with disastrous results. What begins a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a moving lesson
about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.

CAST REQUIREMENTS: 7 men, 12 women, plus singing ensemble with many small roles.
Each auditioner must prepare a Broadway-style song (accompanist and tape/CD player will be provided)
and will be asked to read a scene from the script with other auditioners.
You must be currently enrolled in high school or older to audition for this show.

Dinner Theatre Show

One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory,
this deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950s
on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived
for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was.

Auditions - "Into the Woods" and "Forever Plaid" will be Saturday, April 26
at Rend Lake College Theatre from 2:00-4:00 PM
and Saturday, May 24 at the Marion Mall from 2:00-4:00 PM
