Remembering Sara

The Pyramid Players will certainly miss one of its hardest workers and best loved members, Sara Wilkinson. Sara passed away on September 28, 2002 and will be missed by each and every one of the children whose lives she touched. She and her husband John originated the Pyramid Players' children's show, directing five children's shows from 1985 through 1989. Their "trilogy," Way Off Broadway, Tinseltown, and Broadway U.S.A., was a compilation of Broadway songs and sketches arranged by John and Sara for "her children" to perform. Sara's greatest joy was an original musical production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, written, orchestrated, and directed by John and Sara. She also co-directed a children's production of Tom Sawyer, as well as acting as rehearsal accompanist and musical director for numerous shows. In addition to Sara's work with the children's productions, she was a dynamic performer. No one will forget her hilarious rendition of Miss Hannigan in the Pyramid Players' production of Annie or her appearance with John as the hot box dancer, Adelaide, in the musical Guys and Dolls. In addition to these wonderful roles, she made appearances in Follies, My Fair Lady, Gypsy, and numerous other productions.
