Amy Becker
2005 -
Amy Nix is currently an English teacher
at Bolivar High School and will be taking over the duties of
Color Guard Sponsor in the 05-06 school year. Ms. Nix
attended Mineral Springs High School in Arkansas and was in the
Guard for 4 years and Captain for 1 year. She attended
college at SBU graduating with a B.S. in English Education and a
minor in Music Education.

2004-
Ryan is from Wichita Kansas and is currently
attending SBU as a Music Education Major. Ryan also plays
in a local band call Gratify.

John Devos
John F. Devos
is also in his second year at Cotter as the Director of
Instrumental Music. Since 1990, he has been a band director in
the Missouri towns of
Gideon,
Herculaneum, and
De Soto
and the communities of
Fairfield and
Corsicana in Texas. He has
also worked with dozens of bands and other student groups as a
clinician in the areas of
drum majoring, marching,
leadership, and
motivation. Mr. Devos also holds a BME degree in
instrumental music from
Southeast Missouri State University and has also done
graduate work at SIU-Edwardsville
and VanderCook. He
studied saxophone with David Green and conducting with
Robert Gifford
and
Richard Strange.
Mr. Devos enjoys fly fishing and all the
other outdoor activities that Mrs. Devos drags him along on as
well as reading legal thrillers,
writing,
dabbling with computers and web design, and watching the two
best shows on TV - The
West Wing and
Good Eats
(which both, unfortunately, come on at the same time, forcing
him to program the VCR weekly). He has been honored three
times in
Who's Who Among America's Teachers and is a member of the
Arkansas School Band and
Orchestra Association,
Music Educators National Conference,
Texas Music Educators
Association,
Texas Bandmasters Association,
Missouri Music Educators
Association,
Missouri Bandmasters Association,
Percussive Arts Society,
International Jazz Educators
Association, Phi Mu
Alpha Sinfonia (a men's professional music fraternity),

Trout Unlimited.
When he has time, he feeds and waters Ludo, the big ol' cat.

Valerie Manton
Color Guard Sponsor 2002-2005
Valerie is a 2001 graduate of
Camdenton High School in Camdenton, MO. She was a
four-year member of the fall color guard and a
four-year member of the Varsity Winter Guard. Her
senior year, Valerie, along with three other
seniors, designed the show from the ground up and
instructed the Junior Varsity Winter Guard. Their
team placed first in the Mid-Continent Color
Guard Association Finals in Springfield, MO.
